'3 idiots' are very famous out there these days in sub-continent :) Hold on plz - I am not referring or talking about these three friends, who just decided to go out for an EDUTAINMENT Tour (Education + Entertainment) on 5 Feb'10. We Left home after Fajar Prayers, went straight to locate and offer Fateha at 'Haji Turrabi baba Mazar' who is one of TABAYEENs. If you are going from Dhabajee to Gharoo, just side of the 'GUJOO Canal (NEHAR)' make a right turn, Sign Board of 'Haji Turrabi baba Mazar' is there and visible on right from Road, turn right go along with Canal and sign boards can guide you to graveyard. We met there Mr. Gholam Muhammad who belong to the family taking care of Mazar. After visiting this place, we showed him desire to visit Ship that was turned into stone by Haji Turabi Baba during those days (famous native tale).....this place is far from his mazar about 15 kms and quite visible from a place on height near the road. This must be Port during those times, and while standing on that place one can say yes, it’s kind of a huge ship out there in mid of fields (now)…. But converted into stone now (at least shape like this). Another reason if you like history you have another reason to be here. Famous Conqueror Alexander the Great, during his quest to conquer India used to sit on this height and carved something on stone here, that stone is being preserved now and that carved shapes are still on it. (again a native story) but stone must have some historic values and that’s why it is being preserved now by Govt. As shown on the picture, shapes on it look like a prehistoric drawing shapes/way of description. Anyways, then we went off road and we have to walk also in order to reach that ship converted to stone (height about 50 ft). After spending some times while coming back to road enjoyed Camel milk :) and now moving towards HaliJee lake. We at least Noman cann’t forget the feelings we had while Noman was feeding biscuits to a hungry seal caged there and how intelligently and eagerly that seal was enjoying it. They way it grabbed our attention, the way she enjoyed it and the way she thanked us were unforgettable moments. Next time, if someone has to visit Halijee Lake, they should plan to visit this place directly early morning, and should reach here before 8:30 or max 09:00am during Jan – Feb in order to enjoy the migrated birds from Europe and Siberia. Wild life has a boat out there and they can roam you around showing these wonderful birds. This lake is consist upon about 12 kms area. Huts are also available. Before coming back to Karachi we visited another historical place Thatta and Makli and reached back homes after noon. 'Edutainment Tour' & Exploring New Places for Camp/Hike

A Pilot Project of this survey conducted first to identify the necessary changes. In the record time of four evenings JS-Rover under supervision of JS Noman ul Haq (RSL) completed this Survey. BRAVO! Rovers Bravo!. After necessary compilation it will be published on hard copies for distribution and will also be available at our website. Rovers are also planning to MAP the locations of Medical Services by using the Google Earth software and make it available for general public. Sindh Boy Scouts Association organized Training Conference for Leader Trainers (LTs) & Asst. Leader Trainers (ALT) of SBSA to review previous Training & related activities and to make future action plan for Developing Leaders in Scouts through Training activities. JS Abdul Hai Khan (Leader Trainer), JS Shamim Ahmed Rehmani (Asst. Leader Trainer) and JS M. Nasir Khan (Asst. Leader Training - Course) were invited, actively participated and represented JS & Karachi in this Training Conference. Shamim bhai once again submitted to SBSA his Project SPLICE (Survey of all distinguished LTs, ALTs, Gold Medalist, PRS all other live of late scouts and scouters) in order to maintain a comprehensive database. Senior Jauhar Ghulam Jilani Qidwai Sahab passed away- انا للہ و انا الیہ راجعون A TRUE SCOUT and a dedicated educationsit - a kind and gentle heart and a loving father has gone. He was requested to be the first RSL of Jauhar Rovers(1970) and when it became Jauhar Scouts Open Group he was the GSL. His photographs of 1960-Jamboree show Wasim Bhai, Hai Bhai and Ghani Bhai around him. He was ADC of Karachi East and was the Leader of contingent to 1976-Fortess Stadium Jamboree. His wit, style and caring personality will ever be cherished by Jauhar Scouts and also by the students of his Model Day Care School. May his soul get Allah Rahman's Rehma and Ghufran. Amin. We also pray that his worthy son Rahman Ahmad Qidwai (also a Jauhar Scout) and all the family may bear the loss.
